Kioski Nyytti Unikko Tribute bag
Description
The Pieni Nyytti bag is made of unbleached organic cotton marquise and has a Unikko Tribute pattern printed in Helsinki.
The product celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern.
Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, thought that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in a pattern. Because of this, Marimekko's collections previously did not include flowers. Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic reproduction of the flower theme. Today, Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko's design identity.
