The Loisto sweatshirt is made of organic cotton sweatshirt material and has men's sizing. The front has a piece-printed Unikko pattern and Marimekko print text. The shirt has a round neckline finished with ribbing and wide ribbing on the cuffs and hem.
Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, thought that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in a pattern. Because of this, Marimekko's collections previously did not include flowers. Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic reproduction of the flower theme. Today, Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko's design identity.
