Ingrid Bade
The artist Ingrid Bade (born Hagström) is one of the great figures in Finnish poster art. She was virtually forgotten until the Come to Finland team started researching about the signature "I. BADE". Bade was from Sweden and studied in Stockholm where she met Finnish artist Edmund Bade. They married and moved to Finland in 1931. In Helsinki Ingrid Bade worked as a commercial artist for Tilgmann. After the war years Ingrid and Edmund Bade moved to Sweden. Their daughter Gunilla was born in 1946. Today Gunilla Bade is a well-established painter. Before the Come to Finland team contacted Gunilla Bade in 2006, she had never seen any of the great works her mother had created during the Finland years.
