Orgulous Orbweaver necklace

This magical spider jewelry is both understated and opulent – the color palette is inspired by nature, beautifully combined with shimmering silver mirror acrylic and striking details.

I drew inspiration for these spider pieces from the magnificent garden spiders at our summer cottage, which come out to their ambush positions in their giant webs, especially in the evenings. By late summer, these creatures have reached their final, plump form, and I have seen them in many beautiful shades, from grey and brown to burning orange, complete with detailed cross patterns.

For these pieces, I wanted to combine earthy tones with sparkle and shimmer to do justice to the spiders’ intricate webs and their airy nature. For the web material, I chose silver mirror acrylic. The detailed spider, crafted from birch plywood, hangs on a short chain from the main necklace chain, giving the spider a natural movement and lightness. The spider has also captured a beautifully sparkling teardrop-shaped crystal as prey, and pearlescent white glass beads, already caught as a snack, also hang from the webs decorating the chain.
