Leiot Pieni Unikko Kioski sweatshirt, Light pink

The heather grey Leiot sweatshirt has a relaxed fit and features the Pieni Unikko pattern. The sweatshirt has a ribbed crew neck and wide ribbed cuffs and hem.

The product is made of soft 100% organic cotton jersey with a looped interior. The surface of the material may feature small, dark specks characteristic of organic cotton.

Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia believed that it was impossible to capture the true essence of a flower in a pattern. For this reason, flowers had not previously been included in Marimekko collections. Maija Isola therefore designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic reproduction of a floral theme. Today, Unikko is a powerful symbol of joy and creativity and a key part of Marimekko’s design identity.
