The rosy-cheeked bilberry is a favourite berry for many. The bilberry is a true health bomb with its numerous health benefits, as it contains a multitude of vitamins, fibre, and minerals. In folk medicine, the bilberry was once used for many ailments and was highly valued. According to ancient Nordic beliefs, the Virgin Mary sowed the forests full of bilberries so that the earth would bear berries for people to eat. The Nordic bilberry is healthier than its cousin, the highbush blueberry, considerably smaller, and dark purple on the inside. Bilberries cannot be eaten in secret; they temporarily stain the tongue, lips, and fingers alike. As a child, the bilberries collected in a small bucket ended up in mother’s pie, and the largest blue delicacies, of course, went straight into the mouth in the forest. Can you already taste them?

The Mustikkapaikka collection consists of deep blue bilberries, their light green leaves, and water droplets condensed on top of the berries. It is inspired by early morning trips to the forest and berry clusters moistened by morning dew.
