Description
The Pirtti ankle socks are made of terry knit and feature the Unikko flower pattern.
The product contains 73% organic cotton.
Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of print design, in 1964. Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, thought it was impossible to capture the true essence of a flower in a pattern. For this reason, flowers had not previously been included in Marimekko’s collections. Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic reproduction of a floral theme. Today, Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko’s design identity.
