The material comes to Finland as yarn and is knitted into fabric at Orivede. The finished fabric is printed by hand in Porvoo, where the products are also sewn and finished.
The bamboo used in the bamboo elastic terry (bamboo viscose 82%, polyester 18%) is viscose bamboo, and it is produced using the viscose spinning method. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world (up to half a meter to a meter per day) and does not require much fertilizer or pesticides. By growing so fast, bamboo also binds a lot of carbon dioxide from the air.
Viscose bamboo is soft, and therefore pleasant to use. However, it may fluff up a bit. The material is also hypoallergenic, breathable and biodegradable. Best of all, it doesn't start to smell easily when using a dishcloth!
The bamboo we use is cultivated (in Asia), and therefore not off the menu of any animal. The polyester addition brings durability to the soft fabric.
The fabric has an Oeko-Tex certificate from the beginning to the end of production, which guarantees that there are no residues of harmful substances in the product.
