The first chapters of YO ZENE's story were written by chance on a frosty day in January in 2010. Paula and Kate, who work as architects, noticed a lonely swan wandering on the frozen Oulu River from the window of their workplace. The friends decided to take care of the injured swan and feed it through the winter. With the dawn of spring, the swan grew stronger and took flight one sunny morning. The swan's survival story left behind a beautiful memory and a name for a recently born shape in the hands of friends - the origami swan.

We are involved in developing Finnish design and taking it to the world as a proud Nordic. Like swans, we draw inspiration from Finland's nature, periodically looking for breezes from faraway lands. We hope that the symbolism of our design will touch people living in the heart of metropolises as well as in complete silence.
